This is a family of ESPbased modules with some integrated key components, including a crystal oscillator and an antenna matching circuit. The modules constitute ready-made solutions for integration into final products. The key characteristics of these modules are summarized in the table below. This is the smallest available ESPbased development board. With such a module, the creation of a fully functional development board required only a few external components that fit on a PCB as small as 20 x 52 mm.
Power can be supplied either via USB or via a standard 5 mm power supply jack. The board can accommodate other versions of ESP modules described in Modules.

It used serial communication to send and receive data. It have two series, series1 and series 2. Series 1 zigbee module can not work in mesh network. As I have already mentioned it use serial port to send and receive data. So its mean it can be easily interface with Arduino Uno R3, any type of microcontroller and computer. Because they all support serial communication and they all have serial port to send and receive data.
It can also communicate with other Zigbee to form a mesh. Zigbee can also be used to make a local area network. It have many applications. But some of the famous applications of Zigbee is given below. You have to interface it with some intelligent device like microcontrollers, Arduino and computer. These devices will tell it what to do or what no to do through alrady fed program inside microcontrollers and Arduino Uno R3. These digital devices are no such intelligent.
But you can make them intelligent by writing few lines of instructions. To interface it you should know which series of it you are using. Because it is recommended for beginners. Two Zigbee modules can talk with each other if both are of same type. You should set configuration of both modules. Figure above shows connection diagram of module with Arduino. Otherwise you have to use separate power supply.
In above circuit. TX and RX pin of zigbee and Arduino are connected to each other. Arduino will send some instruction to zigbee and according to these instruction zigbee respond. Similary zigbee receive intructions from other zigbee to which it have address.
After receiving instructions or data from other zigbee. It send data to arduino through serial pins as shown in connection. Similarly other module can be connected with one more Arduino or computer.
Same connection diagram is used for other zigbee and arduino pair. After connecting Arduino with it, upload the above code in Arduino, Arduino start receiving whatever zigbee send to Arduino through serial communication.

Its cheap, reliable and fun to outsmart the vendors of proprietary gateways and build your own cc router. But some people have their doubts and question the range or the maximum devices paired to one router. Therefore we wrote this post. Some tips to improve the range and strength of your Zigbee network.
And still it cost you almost nothing! So read learn, try and have fun!! Zigbee acts as a mesh network. And below you see how a typical Zigbee mesh network looks like. There is always a single coordinator. If you pair some devices to it, you get a simple Star network. But when you have more end devices paired over a longer range, some devices will act as a router. That means that a signal for end-devices hops through this router to the coordinator. Or a signal can even use more than one router to communicate with the coordinator.
The more routers, the stronger the total network will become. Just like over the internet, an end device will always choose the best path to the coordinator. You always need at least one coordinator. It has router capabilities and is the start of your Z igbee network. This can be a proprietary gateway or your own DIY gateway. Routers transfer the traffic of end devices between the different nodes.
They cannot be battery powered because a router they also have to be ready to transfer a message, which cannot be guaranteed when they are in power saving mode. AC powered devices like the Ikea smart switches are end devices that also have router capabilities.
