Even just a code reader though should read check engine codes, although if it is not connecting, that does not mean there are no codes. There are codes as for the radio, that must be re set for it to work. They did that so thieves are less interested in them. What I would try is disconnect the batterythe new one, for a few minutes and see what happens, but I grant you that is a longshot, but maybe, just maybe it will correct some or all of what happened.
For all this to happen just because a new battery was installed, to state the obvious, should not happen and they may have knocked something off installing the battery.
